I called on Larry McGill, a rancher in Wasco County. He ended up buying three ads on the map and inviting me to join his family for dinner, stay overnight and join them for a cattle drive the next day. That became one of my all-time favorite map memories. It was the first and undoubtedly the last time that I'll ever play cowboy-for-a-day.
