This is Bald Eagle country. While I was in the North Cascades, near Rockport, I saw seven Bald Eagles in five minutes. Sometimes referred to as the American Alps, the scenery in the North Cascades in spectacular. There are over 1700 species of plants in the alpine meadows during the summer...flowers bloom from June through August.
