TURN YOUR HOMETOWN INTO A CARTOON MAP!

Last year we created a cartoon map for Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Shortly after the map was released we were approached by one of the towns in the county. We worked with them to create a cartoon map of Ephrata, one of the most charming towns in Lancaster County. I enjoyed learning about Ephrata and its place in early American history. If you would like me to create a cartoon map for your hometown, feel free to contact me. I'll be happy to answer your questions.

PUT YOUR SUBDIVISION ON THE MAP!

If you're building a new housing development and you want to get the word out, do what they did in Gillette, Wyoming...let us create a custom map of your new subdivision. We can guide you through all the steps, from the first rough sketch to the final art. The client told me that the contractor was thrilled with the results of his new Enzi Corridor map. We can create the map in a realistic style as seen above, or it can be drawn in my usual humorous style cartoon map. Give me a call. I'll be glad to answer all of your questions.

INTRODUCING PARADISE TRAVEL MAPS!

Introducing our brand new cartoon map series, Paradise Travel Maps. Each map in the series will feature an exotic locale such as the above map of Rarotonga, a fantasy island in the South Pacific. Last year we flew down to Rarotonga to research the island. I wanted to have a first hand knowledge of this Heaven on earth location before I began work on the poster. Wow! What a place.

The Cayman Islands cartoon map was the first tropical island map that I created. Future titles in the Paradise Travel Map series will include: The Hawaiian Islands, Aitu Taki, Bermuda, and other Caribbean islands. Do you have any suggestions for future Paradise Travel maps? Let us know.

Travel agencies are going to love these maps. If you would like to know how you can get in on the action of helping us market our Paradise Travel Maps, please contact me.

Speaking of Rarotonga, I will also be leading a watercolor painting workshop in Rarotonga next January, 2010. In my Painting in Paradise Workshop I will show you how to paint in watercolor exotic tropical flowers growing on the island. If you'd like to join us for the Painting in Paradise Workshop, here's more information. I might add, it has been suggested that I make it clear that all of the flowers you'll see on my Painting in Paradise web site are actual paintings...they're not photographs. This is the realistic painting style that I will be teaching on the island.

That's it for now. Thanks for stopping by. Check back soon.

PUT YOUR COLLEGE ON THE MAP!

Most people aren't aware that, though cartoon maps are my specialty, I also draw realistic-style maps...like this one for Mount Hood Community College in Gresham, Oregon. It looks a bit unfinished because of the empty outlying areas. They were later filled with text by the college graphics department, but I have yet to see the finished map. The one thing I will always remember about this map is the hours that I spent drawing trees, trees, and more trees.

I'm also finishing up a realistic real estate map right now for a new real estate development in Wyoming. I will be posting it here soon. Unfortunately, that too is loaded with trees.

Right after the first of the year we will be starting work on a brand new cartoon map of Biscayne Boulevard in Miami, Florida. Check back in two or three months for a look at our new Miami map, plus many more cartoon maps that are in the pipeline.

If you have a college or real estate development, or a small country that you would like illustrated, in cartoon or realistically, give us a call. We'll be happy to answer all of your questions.

PUT YOUR WALKING TOUR ON THE MAP!

This is my second map for the little Washington State town on North Bonneville. The first one was to promote the town itself. This new map is to promote their Heritage Trail system. You would enjoy visiting this scenic little village on the banks of the Columbia River, just below the mighty Bonneville Dam. What really makes North Bonneville different from other towns is that it looks like one big park...and there is no typical main street with downtown buildings. It's a planned community that was relocated downriver to make room for the dam. Somehow in the relocation process a typical main street never happened.

If you have a walking tour in your town or city that needs some publicity, or even a nearby dam that needs a map, give us a call. We'll be glad to answer your questions.

PUT YOUR COASTLINE ON THE MAP!

Over the years, we've created cartoon maps for the entire Washington Coast and Oregon Coast (twice). Now, for your viewing pleasure, we bring you West Marin County, California, one of California's most scenic stretches of coastline.

One of the things I enjoy about creating my cartoon maps is how much I learn about each area that I map. I learned a lot of amazing things about West Marin on this project. Sir Francis Drake, famed English sea captain and explorer stopped here during his circumnaviation of the globe between 1577 and 1580.

If you would like a stretch of coastline created in cartoon map form, we can create a map like this for you...with, or without ads. Contact us and we'll be glad to answer your questions.

FUN MAPS USA GOES HOLLYWOOD!

After many years of waiting in the wings, Fun Maps USA finally got that long-awaited call from Hollywood. We've hit the big time! I just created this Hollywood cartoon map for Doug Fregolle Promotions.

We also recently created a map of the United States for a television special that aired in July on
E! Entertainment Network.

The image below shows how my Hollywood cartoon map was used...Doug Fregolle Promotions created this ruled-line notebook as a promo piece, using my map as the cover art. Is this a cool idea, or what?

If you'd like to create a cartoon map notebook for your town, private island, or small country, contact me and I'll be glad to answer your questions. Thanks for stopping by...check back soon.

PUT YOUR RESORT ON THE MAP!

Does your resort, or resort town need a map makeover? That's why the Aberdeen Daily World newspaper in Aberdeen, Washington called us. They wanted to employ our unique cartoon cartographic perspective to depict the nearby resort town of Ocean Shores. Throughout the summer season all of the merchants in Ocean Shores will now have copies of our maps to give away to visitors. Oceans Shores is the second biggest tourist attraction in Washington State, second only to Seattle. Contact us if you would like to see your resort on the map.

Do you live in a tiny town out in the middle of nowhere? Would you like to put your little town on the map? That's what Perry, Kansas did. And just look at them now! Give us a call and we'll do the same for your little town...or large city. All you need is for some of the merchants to get together, as Perry did, and "chip in" to fund the project. Then we're off and running.

Your town will enjoy worldwide exposure, just as Perry is right now. You found Perry, Kansas, right? If you turn your town into a cartoon map, the world will find you too! Our cartoon maps are a great way to get discovered.

THE FAMOUS RADIO RANCH MAP

Greetings!

Remember listening to the Chicken Man radio series when you were a kid? ("Bok-BOK-Bok-BOK...He's everywhere! He's everywhere!") I listened to it on Armed Forces Radio when I was overseas in the army. Dick Orkin created and starred in the renowned radio show. Today Dick owns The Famous Radio Ranch, a radio commercial production house on Ventura Boulevard, just north of Los Angeles. The Famous Radio Ranch commissioned me to create a cartoon map of the their neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley.

Incidentally, in case you're wondering, that pale turquoise color that I used for the Santa Monica Mountains in the background was not my color choice. The client requested that color so the text would stand out.

Would you like a cartoon map of YOUR neighborhood to highlight YOUR business? Shoot me an email, or give me a call (253-841-7944). I'll be glad to answer your questions.

If you would like me to draw a cartoon map of YOUR paradise island, click "Contact".

Also just posted is our new cartoon map of Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada. You'll find that in the "Maps" section. Scroll down to "Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta".

ANOTHER BRAND NEW USA MAP!

Greetings!

Here is yet another USA map...this time for Western Recreational Vehicles, makers of Alpenlite and Alpine Coach RVs. Later in the summer I'll be trekking down to Junction City, Oregon, to autograph the cartoon map posters for all those RVers nationwide who participated in the Alpine RV Run.

Also just posted is our new cartoon map for Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada, for their Senior Games this summer. Click on "Maps" and scroll down to check it out. It's such fun creating maps for people far and wide.

Speaking of far and wide, In a few days I will begin work on a new cartoon map for The Grand Cayman Islands. For some time I've wanted to map an exotic island, so I'm eager to get started on the project.

I will soon begin work on a new map that will show people the cartoon route (the most fun route) from Austin, Texas, to a retreat center in Dripping Springs, Texas. I do many specialty maps like this, including wedding maps. There are lots of other cartoon map projects brewing, too numerous to mention. I'll keep you posted on progress.

LANE COUNTY, OREGON JUST RELEASED! PLUS LOTS MORE!

We just posted our new Lane County, Oregon Map. Look for Adventures in Mapland for Lane County soon. I had a blast in Lane County. I saw the amazing Oregon Country Fair, one of the world's largest renaissance fairs. Special thanks to Lynne Caulley for being such a good host while I was in Lane County. The Oregon Coast was beautiful, as always. And the Oregon Cascades are almost as beautiful as the Cascade Mountains up here in Washington! If you want to travel and make money in the cartoon map business like I do, click on "Business Opportunity". I'll be glad to answer your questions. Maybe I'll see YOU in Mapland!

We have lots of exciting cartoon map projects on the horizon and beyond: A new cartoon map of Point Defiance Park, in Tacoma, Washington will soon be released. I'll keep you posted as details unfold. Point Defiance is the largest city park west of the Mississippi. The map will be published in poster and T-Shirt form. Hopefully, you'll be able to order T shirts from Bron's Shop at www.bronsmith.com

Other pending projects: A series of T shirt cartoon maps all over Florida; a series of cartoon RV maps all over Florida; a new series of cartoon maps all over Ohio; a new series of cartoon maps all over eastern Canada; a new cartoon map for Gallup, New Mexico; a new cartoon map of the USA for The Compass School in Virginia. The map will be used for their summer camping program at various locations around the country. And lastly, a new cartoon map for the Fairfax District of Los Angeles, California. It looks like I'll be busier than a guppy's midwife for the foreseeable future. If YOU have a map project in mind, click "Contact". I'll be glad to answer your questions.

WELCOME TO FUN MAPS USA!

Welcome to Fun Maps USA, one of America's premier purveyors of cartoon maps!

We are one of America's oldest and most prolific cartoon map companies. In business since 1982, we've produced about 60 map titles. If there is a cartoon cartographer somewhere out there who has drawn more maps than that, I would sure like to meet him or her. Most of our titles are of Pacific Northwest locales within reasonable driving range of our headquarters in Puyallup, Washington.

If you're looking for someone to draw a cartoon map of your city, town, county, island or small country, I just might be who you are looking for. I've worked with many chambers of commerce and business associations over the years. I'm told I'm easy to work with and you can probably see by my work that I love what I do. If you have questions about a possible map project for your area, please contact me.

If you would like to be a vital part of a fun business and you have sales experience, you may want to be part of our sales team. If this sounds like something that interests you, check out our Business Opportunities page. Having sold thousands of ads myself, I can teach you the ropes, and it's all laid out, step by step in my cartoon maps sales manual.

Everywhere I go, merchants comment that "you sure have a fun job!" For a glimpse at some of the fun times I've had during the course of my map travels, check out my Adventures in Mapland page. It will give you a behind the scenes look at some of the fun times I've had on my sales trips. For more information about our cartoon map business, go to FAQ's, or contact me. I'll be glad to answer your questions.

Our new titles are posted on the Maps page. We just delivered Linn County, Oregon a couple weeks ago. Other new titles include: North Cascades, Washington; Apple Valley, California; and Skamania County Fair, Washington State. We also recently posted a map for Pierce County Public Works and Utilities conventions booth. I draw unconventional maps like that, too.

Upcoming titles include: Mason County, Washington.

You'll find much more of the work that I do for children's books, game boards, school visits, etc. at www.bronsmith.com. My story blog, Trowbridge Chronicles is gaining new fans everyday.

That's it for now. Check back soon for more Mapland fun from my ever-expanding Cartooniverse.
